The Loft Cafe in Mount Dora

Had lunch there today with my wife and the food , atmosphere and the service was great no complaints. Such a quaint little place to eat on the 2nd floor of a historic looking building. They offer both traditional food and vegan. My wife and I would definitely return and eat there again.

The food/service/decor/atmosphere are all fantastic here. I brought my sister for her birthday lunch, they surprised us both with free dessert and a birthday song sung by the whole staff. It was truly a wonderful experience and we both will definitely be returning. If you like mushrooms please try the mushroom bisque. It's delicious!

Group of three visited on New Year's Day and had a great lunch. All selections were great along with the staff. We even had a great visit by the owner. We will visit again. Our new favorite.

Delicious food in a serene atmosphere. The menu was creative, with fresh farm to table ingredients and vegan options so there's something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals- we tried the curried chicken salad and the falafels- and can't wait to go back to try some of the other entrees.

So happy to have this new restaurant in Mount Dora! The decor is great but the food is even better! The owner is super nice and came out to talk with us and make sure were pleased! Lot of choices on the menu for a small restaurant! I would highly recommend this place!

Came to explore Mt. Dora and decided to try this place that caught both my and my wife's eyes. To drink, we both tried a hand crafted soda (wild raspberry lime and green apple crush). To eat, we had the fried green tomatoes with creamy peppercorn horseradish sauce (appetizer), the biscuits and southern sausage gravy (entree), and the chicken and waffle sliders (entree). Overall, everything was good, but nothing was good enough to make us feel the need to return. The staff was friendly and the environment is nice, which bumps this from a 3 to a 4 rating.

This place is an absolute GEM. The food was amazing. The cool thing about this restaurant is that they make a regular and a plant based version of everything they serve. What a concept!!! I thought it was brilliant. The owner eats plant based but her family does not. Maybe that’s where the idea grew from?! Anyway- it’s a must go to. And the inside is the cutest!!!! We are a family of 9 and eat plant based and everything we ate was completely delicious. We had the plant based versions of biscuits and gravy, a Rubin sandwich, French toast, waffles topped with fresh strawberries, chick’n and waffles, and a vegan quiche with sun dried tomatoes, greens and all kinds of veggies and a side salad. Everything was gorgeous. We also went with 6 family members who eat conventionally. And everything they had, they also LOVED. 💗 So thankful for this spot. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Had Oatmeal with Fresh Fruit and Nuts, and The House Kombucha. Everything was and went Great!

We were so excited to eat here when we heard the chef was vegan. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. Thank you so much - as a vegan Traveller eating out is pretty much a nightmare - you saved us!

Favorite place to eat in Mount Dora! There is something for everyone plus a great wine selection. They have food for meat, fish, poultry & vegan lovers....you choose. I have tried various themes, all great! Will post a photo next time

It's a great Mt Dora experience. A quaint, upstairs restaurant with great food. We did the Sunday buffet brunch included regular and plant based options. Delicious!

Came here for Sunday Brunch with my family after church today. It was excellent! They had a buffet going with incredible food today, which is apparently a switch up from their normal Sunday menu, which is what they do every once in a while. They also had unlimited mimosas in like 6 different flavors, which was great! The service, decor, and atmosphere was all perfect as well! We will be coming back!

A nice quiet atmosphere for a wonderful meal. The food was fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the grilled cheese on sourdough bread. It was the best looking grilled cheese I have ever seen. The bread looked as if it was homemade. I ordered a quiche and it was full of veggies. It looked like there were sun-dried tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and artichokes. The topped was covered with cheese. The service was fast and friendly. I would recommend this place for appetizers or a light lunch.

The food and service are excellent....whether you like traditional or plant based food, this is the place for you.

This place has amazing food, we had a group of six people and everyone said how good there food was. This is a great option for a group with mixed dietary needs, as there are so many options from, traditional to vegan to plant based options.

Super cute place but don’t expect much of a buffet or brunch on Sunday’s. It was micromanaged and I left hungry. You get called up one table at a time. They serve you the tinyest amount of food and rush you to your seat. After you finish eating at four bites they make you wait to get called for seconds. I was literally served 1/2 a sausage patty, 1/2 biscuit with maybe two tablespoons of gravy, a 1”x2” slice of quiche, and about 3tablespoons of grits. For $20. If they do away with the buffet and just serve you it would be a much more pleasant experience. I only gave two stars because she gave my children a slight discount after I made a comment about being disappointed that I would have to take them somewhere else so they wouldn’t be hungry. Not cool.

The food is very tasty and there are plenty of healthy options s to choose from. My favorite is the Mediterranean flatbread and the mushroom soup.

Very excited that there's a vegan option in Mount Dora, but the food was just okay and the portion sizes we're very small.

This has been on my "want to visit" list and I'm sorry we waited so long to visit. Chic, elegant and romantic! Service is wonderful and the food is great. Ruben and grilled cheese were both delicious. The highlight of our visit was meeting the owner, Kimberly, who was very gracious and genuinely interested in our experience. We will be back. Highly recommend!

The bar here is very cool for having an afternoon drink. My wife and I loved the food and the staff is friendlier than about anywhere in Mt. Dora. A new favorite for me.

Service was so so. Food was very dry and boring. Nothing special at all really. The best was when they asked us, and 3 other tables to move while we were eating, because a large group was coming in. Friendly staff, but that doesn't make up for the poor dining experience.

The food is amazing. Everything is fresh and tasty. The place is super clean. I highly recommend this place especially for vegan choices.

Came for the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was amazing. They had traditional items and then a plant based alternative to each item. We had plant based pancakes made to order, Rueben strata, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, potatoes, and corn chowder (all vegetarian, most vegan). They hav a mimosa bar too. The staff was so friendly and served you the buffet explaining what everything is. Can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu.

Eaten here twice food good ,atmosphere nice.Although pricey for the amount of food served .I imagine this is to help cover the price of the high rent.Also on two different occasions my friend and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning.Both times they did not open at 9 as posted we had to wait .The first time we waited about 20 minutes for them to open the door and then when they did they said their workers had a late night so they didn’t want them to have to come in early really! This was a while back.The second time was recently and before we were ready to go upstairs to the loft there is was an older gentleman sitting on a bench and said don’t bother they said they’re not opening on time ,he waited for a couple people to show up and then they decided to go to another place for breakfast as did we totally uncalled for.

Happened upon this quaint and adorable place. We got the fried green tomatoes and the grilled cheese bites with tomato soup. Everything was delicious

Hosted my father's memorial here. The owner is a wonderful lady and a pleasure to work with. The food here is very creative and absolutely delicious. Best place to eat in downtown Mt.Dora

The Loft was closed yesterday. No sign on door or post on Facebook. We had called before heading to the loft but like many other times in the past, no one answered. Since that has happened numerous times, we didn't think much of it. It takes almost an hour to get to The Loft. And arriving to a closed restaurant is very disappointing. I sent a message on Messenger that was answered many hours later. She said she is so sorry but had an outside event. No way for her to alter her hours. Really?! What about a sign on your door? Or a post on Facebook? Oh how about a message on your phone instead of ringing endlessly? So when I asked her about posting on Facebook, she muted our conversation and didn't respond. She is very unprofessional. We came many times to this restaurant and the food was good. However when the owner is snotty and entitled then I will make sure to take my money elsewhere.

As a life-long vegetarian, visiting a restaurant where I could choose literally anything from the menu was an exceptional treat! My mom and I enjoyed delicious plant-based options while my dad ordered from their traditional menu. I recommend the avocado fries as an appetizer! Everything we had (avocado fries, falafel pita, plant-based BLT, and traditional biscuits and gravy) was fantastic, especially the sweet potato fries. I'll need to make another trip to Mt. Dora just for this place!

We were so pleased to find the Loft Cafe for lunch. The food was fantastic and the owner Kim is lovely. Highly recommended for a wonderfully healthy meal.

We love the food which is so fun and interesting as well as their unique beverages! Ambience is great and so is the service!

It is upstairs (you can not see it from the street). Now you know where to find it, let me encourage you to visit. We travel and crave restaurants like this one. Owner/chef places that serving healthy delicious food. At this time The Loft is only open for dinner on Tuesday (lucky us). We had an engaging conversation with the owner/chef. She want's a restaurant that everyone can eat. Meat eaters are welcome but vegans & vegetarians are catered to as well. I'm looking forward to our next visit. I had the soup/salad/quiche combo which is pictured.

Delicious food! Both the sweet potato waffle fries and the beer battered onion rings were the best sides! The crew there was very attentive. I hope to come back soon!

What an amazing place! Guests can order list items either plant-based or traditional. What an ingenious idea to provide a fusion restaurant that can accommodate diners of all dietary preferences and requirements. The owner often comes out of the kitchen to interact with guests. An all-around delight!
